Children’s Health Council members enjoy exciting opportunities to engage directly with Weill Cornell Medicine experts and to connect with like-minded parents, grandparents and other individuals.

  • Discovery Panels bring leading physicians together for interdisciplinary discussion around today’s most pressing children’s health issues.
  • Intimate members-only cocktail receptions and luncheons give Council members the chance to get to know one another and the scientists they support.
  • Faculty-led laboratory tours give Council members an inside look at where, when and how scientific discoveries happen.

Lab Tour with Dr. Lisa Roth (ages 13+ with guardian)
April 26, 2023

Teens (ages 13+) were invited for a lab tour with Dr. Lisa Roth, director of Pediatric Oncology at Weill Cornell Medicine, to discuss her latest scientific research addressing lymphoma among the adolescent and young adult (AYA) patient population, ages 15-39. Additionally, Dr. Roth led the AYA Lymphoma Program and shared inspiring patient stories of how specialized multidisciplinary care made all the difference when facing cancer and coming of age.

Pediatric Simulation Center Tour (ages 6-12 with guardian)

Our simulation center provides exciting interactive learning opportunities for our faculty, nurses and residents in the Department of Pediatrics. Families were invited to bring their kids (ages 6-12 years old) and join us to explore the same tools that our staff use to provide world-class care! This hands-on experience allowed our youngest guests (and future doctors) to learn the clinical basics using state-of-the-art technology, including human-size simulation manikins.

They heard about how our faculty trained general pediatricians to incorporate mental health screening and treatment into routine primary care, and integrated dedicated mental health specialists into our pediatric primary care clinics.
